Honeymoon – Polihale Beach

Our last day in Hawaii we took our time getting up, got our stuff all packed and ready to go. When we were ready to go we dragged our suitcases down three flights of stairs and checked out. Then we dragged them up two steps and out of the lobby. We put them in the trunk and headed to Starbucks for breakfast. After breakfast Chris and I decided to spend some more time at the Beach House and snorkel our favorite spot one last time. There was a bunch of butterfly fish that came and greeted us right away. They are so beautiful and as big as your face!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We laid on the beach for a while and dried off. Once we were dry and warm we got in the car and said good-bye to the Beach House. We then drove into Koloa and returned our snorkel gear at Snorkel Bobs. Then Chris decided that it was our last chance to go see Polihale Beach and that we should just do it. So we drove all the way around Kauai until the highway turned into a gravel road. We took that road all the way to the beach. Polihale Beach is long and sandy with the Napali Coast starting on one side and nothing but beach and ocean on the other. We enjoyed the view and took a few pictures, some of our last in Hawaii. Then I was getting thirsty so we drove back into Waimea for drinks.IMG_6562 IMG_6580 IMG_6583

Once we got back into Koloa we decided that before we leave we should try shaved ice. I had wanted to try it earlier but never put much effort into actually getting some, ice cream or dole whip always seemed to win out.

It was yummy and while I wasn’t kicking myself to hard for not trying it sooner it was pretty good. I can only convince Chris on so many snacks and treats a trip and I wouldn’t trade any of my dole whips for anything not even a few more shaved ice.IMG_6585

After we finished our snack we headed into Lehue and filed up the Aveo and drove it to the rental place. Then headed to the airport to catch our flight home. At the airport I surprised Chris with a birthday card and present that I had hidden in my suitcase the entire time. It was a game he had been wanting and I had hoped he could play on the plane. It needed internet so instead he watched Duck Dynasty while I tried to sleep. I got cold at some point so Chris bought me a WestJet blanket. It’s supper soft and cuddly. We got home really early the next morning so we drove straight home said hi to Trouble and Flair then as a family had a nap. It was great!
