Our second day in O’ahu was Chris’s day. The night before we went online and registered for a tour of the SS. Missouri. We arrived early got our tickets and took the bus out to the ship. Once there we climbed aboard and waited for our tour guides. After a few minutes they arrived and we were surprised to find that we were the only people taking the tour. The two tour guides took us into the 16″ guns on deck and down into the engine and boiler rooms.
After 5 hours . . . it felt like I had seen everything.
After I convinced Chris that I was famished and thirsty enough to warent leaving. We went and got a bite to eat at the Aviation museum cafeteria then headed off to our second attempt at the dole plantation. This time we arrived with almost enough time. We purchased our tickets and headed to the train.
We then once again ran out of time and were not able to do the maze. So we went into the shop got some dole whip and headed back to the hotel.
For dinner we headed across the street to Keo’s Thai food. We ordered our normal Thai eats, pad thai and cashew nut chicken. IMHO Puket Thai in Abbotsford, Coconut Thai in Chilliwack, and the Thai place in Gibsons are better. IMHO. It was still good though just not like home.
